The real kind.

This year, The Action Mapping Method grew in ways I did not fully anticipate. Not because of algorithms or hacks, but because people chose to read, reflect, reply, and share.

Here is what that looked like in numbers:

431 subscribers reading and thinking alongside me

1,309 podcast downloads of long-form conversations about clarity and alignment

88 people personally recommended to other Substack publications because their work deserved more eyes

But the numbers are not the point.

What mattered most this year were the quiet messages, the thoughtful replies, the moments where someone said, “This helped me think more clearly,” or “This finally gave me language for what I was feeling.”
<div If you missed it, here’s the quick recap and the core exercise we did together.

As we move through December, the online world gets loud. Suddenly everyone becomes a planning expert. Everything is on sale. Every program claims it will “change your 2026.” The pressure to buy something “before the year ends” hits hard.

But here’s the truth we talked about today:
Most of what’s being sold right now has nothing to do with your actual goals. It’s noise. It drains money, energy, and attention.

So we asked a simple question:

What does alignment mean for YOU in 2026?
Not for the gurus who think they know you. Not for the trends. For you.

Alignment is simple.
It means making decisions that match who you are, what you want, and how you work best. It means stopping the habit of outsourcing your direction to people who don’t know you.

The 2-Post-it Exercise We Did Together

This was the heart of the session, and you can do it on your own anytime.

Post-it #1: “Aligned for 2026”
Write one goal or direction that feels true for you. Something you want because you want it.

Post-it #2: “Not For Me”
Write one shiny object, program, or temptation you’re not chasing next year — because it doesn’t match your actual direction.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" I loved the work. I loved solving problems, helping teams collaborate, and creating solutions that made clients happy.

But while I was at work doing what I enjoyed, my two delicious kids (then 4 and 1) were waiting for Mommy to come home. To play, laugh, eat dinner together, do bath time, dance, spend time, and put them to bed. And even though Daddy is arguably the favorite… my schedule didn’t match my values. I care more about family than work. The lifestyle didn’t reflect that.

So in April 2024, I stepped out of corporate and into entrepreneurship. It has been a journey full of surprises. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family, so I assumed this path would feel natural. Turns out it came with way more identity shifts than I expected. The last year and a half have been wild. Growth, learning, connection, confusion, clarity, frustration, joy… all of it.

Looking back on 2025, I can see how “married” I still am to my corporate identity. My content has leaned heavily corporate because that version of me was familiar and safe. But my inner aligned self doesn’t need that corporate identity anymore. It shaped me, but it is not who I am.

This week, I had the privilege of working 1-2-1 with on my business. One of the big insights I had right away was seeing how much I still show up online as the corporate version of myself. I genuinely didn’t realize it until we unpacked it together (THANKS CLAIRE!!) Now I know that I need to intentionally show up as the aligned version of Tamar, not the corporate one.

With 2026 approaching, I’m asking myself some big questions. And this is one of them:
What does it look like to show up online without wearing the corporate jacket?
It’s something I’m exploring and will continue to explore in the new year.

To support this, I’m using a resource I created called Reclaim Your Identity. It’s a short 3-step reset for entrepreneurs who feel stuck, scattered, or off track. I want to share it with you too. 👇

Reclaiming Your Identity

6.72MB ∙ PDF file

Download
Download

So yes, this email is different. Approve another reorg
✔️ Hire another senior leader
✔️ Add another tool
✔️ Run another offsite

It helps for a few weeks.
Then the same patterns come back.
Not because your people are bad.
Not because your strategy is wrong.
But because execution is unaligned.

What “unaligned execution” actually looks like

Unaligned execution is not loud chaos.
It’s quieter.

It sounds like:

“We’re working on it.”
“We thought that was a Q3 thing.”
“I didn’t know that was my call.”
“I assumed they were handling that.”

It looks like:

Three teams touching the same problem but not talking
A “top priorities” slide no one can recite
A roadmap disconnected from the strategy deck
A CEO calendar full of escalation and clarification

If you’re honest, you might see this clearly:
You do have priorities.
You just don’t have shared ownership or shared focus.

Why reorgs don’t fix it

When things feel off, reorgs are tempting.
They feel decisive. They signal motion.
They let you say, “We’re taking big action.”

But here’s the truth:
Reorgs rearrange misalignment.
They don’t resolve it.

If your leadership team isn’t aligned on:

✔️ What matters most in the next 90 days
✔️ Who owns what
✔️ What “good” looks like
✔️ How you’ll keep each other honest

Then the org chart will keep shifting around the same problems.
And you’ll keep holding the whole plan in your head.
That is not sustainable.

The question most CEOs avoid

There’s one question more CEOs should ask:

“If I put all our priorities, projects, and owners on one page,
would it actually make sense?”

Not theoretically.
Not in a board deck.
In reality.

Most can’t answer yes.

Because the truth is, the picture is scattered across:

OKRs
Department plans
Project boards
Individual goals
Slack threads and random decks

No one sees the whole picture.
Except you.
That is the real bottleneck.

A simpler way to approach alignment

Instead of another offsite or restructuring, I push for something simpler:
One focused working session that puts everything on the table.

I call it a Leadership Alignment Diagnostic.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" You want this because the right AI leverage turns your expertise into systems: tighter delivery, higher completion rates, cleaner decisions, and consistent client wins that fuel referrals and revenue—without duct-taping yet another tool onto your already busy week.

Unfortunately, most experts try to make AI the edge instead of the amplifier—and they end up sounding generic, over-automating the moments that require trust, and under-supporting the moments that require momentum.

The core issue: They automate the relationship instead of the workflow.

Here are a few more reasons smart people stumble:

Reason #1: No clarity on which moments require human presence (trust, decisions, motivation) vs. AI leverage (prep, synthesis, follow-up).

Reason #2: Prompts are random, not embedded in a simple, repeatable framework (like TAMM’s Clarify → Collect → Choose → Create).

Reason #3: Tools replace process—there’s no baseline checklist or cadence to measure improvement against.

Reason #4: AI output isn’t tied to client outcomes (completion, time-to-value, testimonial moments), so it “looks cool” but doesn’t move the needle.

The good news: you can fix all of this—by designing AI around your human moments and letting The Action Mapping Method turn that design into a simple loop you can run every week.

Here’s how, step by step:

Step 1: Map your “Presence Moments” first (then add AI).

This matters because trust, clarity, and commitment come from you—AI should set the stage and clean the stage, not stand in your place on it.

Quick examples within The Action Mapping Method:

During Clarify, you hold a 15-minute clarity mapping session with yourself; AI prepares a 1-page brief from the session and highlights key take-aways!

For the Create phase, you set the single next commitment you are making for yourself or your business; AI schedules reminders, creates a checklist, and drafts the “micro-win” survey for proof of progress.

Are you getting the picture??

A client of mine moved all admin to AI (agenda, clustering, recap, reminders) and kept the live facilitation human; completion jumped from 42% to 68% in 6 weeks—because the human moments got more time, not less.

Step 2: Build a tiny AI “Leverage Pack” for each of TAMM stages.

Think of a Leverage Pack as a mini toolkit you build once and reuse over and over for each stage of your workflow.

Each pack is simply:
✅ a small set of AI prompts or templates
✅ that support one specific stage of your process
✅ so you don’t have to start from scratch every time you use AI

It’s not a folder full of random prompts — it’s a systemized library tied to your framework.

Step 3: Track the proof and repeat what works.

Once your presence moments are protected and your AI systems are humming, it’s time to measure what’s actually working so you can amplify it.

Don’t just “feel” like things are improving—track it. Tiny wins compound fast when you can see them clearly.

Examples:

Clients who get an AI-written recap complete next tasks 40 % faster → keep it.

Automated reminders not increasing accountability → drop them.

Micro-win surveys producing testimonial gold → automate those.

Protect your human presence moments. Use AI to accelerate everything around them. Measure what matters and keep iterating.

You don’t need to optimize everything—just the few things that prove your process works. Once you can point to clear results—faster progress, higher completion, cleaner testimonials—you’ve turned AI into a performance amplifier, not a gimmick.

Want the one-liner to remember? AI is your amplifier, not your edge.
Your edge is presence. TAMM gives presence a structure—and AI gives that structure speed.

✨ Ready to reconnect to your inner clarity and reignite your momentum?
Join me for The Alignment Reset Workshop masterminds, retreats, etc. But there is no greater self-development program than parenting. Nothing tests your patience, your resilience, your creativity, or your ability to adapt quite like being home with your kids every day.

For me, parenting has been the ultimate classroom. For someone else, it might be caring for a loved one, running a marathon, navigating a tough season with family, or even building a business from scratch. Life has a way of handing us experiences we didn’t necessarily sign up for, but those experiences end up shaping us in the deepest ways.

Unfortunately, many of us treat these seasons as something we just “get through,” instead of recognizing the growth they demand of us. The ability to stay calm in chaos. The practice of listening when you’d rather lecture. The humility of seeing yourself reflected back in ways—good and hard—that force you to evolve.

Those lessons don’t just make us better parents, caregivers, or professionals. They make us better leaders, creators, entrepreneurs, and humans.

So as I return to work today, I’m bringing all of that with me: the patience, the humility, the resilience, and the perspective that only a summer spent in the trenches of family life can teach.

Because the truth is, there’s no “back to work.” Life doesn’t split neatly into seasons of work and seasons of family. It’s all one integrated journey of growth. And if we’re paying attention, the best classroom is the one right in front of us!

The Action Mapping Method™

The universal tool that guarantees successful execution. I knew scratching would only make it worse. I told myself that over and over again…

But I couldn’t stop.

Each scratch gave me one second of relief—and left my ankle bleeding, swollen, and hurting even more later.

I’m sitting there thinking…there must be some awesome lesson I can learn here…

That’s when it hit me: we do the exact same thing in business.

We “scratch the itch” by making quick moves to soothe discomfort:

Taking on a client we know isn’t the right fit

Saying yes to a collaboration that doesn’t feel aligned

Rushing to launch something half-baked just to quiet the pressure we feel

Buying another course or template hoping it will magically fix things

In the moment, these choices give us temporary relief. We feel like we’re doing something—and that little hit of momentum feels good.
But just like scratching that mosquito bite, it leaves a deeper mark.

Why we can’t stop scratching

Fear of sitting with discomfort – It’s hard to pause when things feel itchy and urgent.

A brain wired for fast relief – Our minds crave quick dopamine hits, not long-term patience.

We confuse action with progress – If we’re doing something, it must be helping… right?

We don’t trust the healing process – We think if we’re not scratching, we’re not fixing it.

But here’s the truth: the real healing only happens when we stop scratching.

Step 1: Notice when you’re scratching.

It’s sneaky.

You might think you’re being productive, but if it feels like quick relief instead of intentional strategy, it’s scratching.

For example, I’ve seen entrepreneurs pour weeks into redesigning their website instead of having one uncomfortable sales conversation.

Step 2: Learn to sit with the itch.

This is the hardest part.

It feels wrong to not do something. But space and stillness let you think clearly and heal.

One of my clients said the moment they stopped chasing every “urgent” task, they finally saw what was truly keeping them stuck.

Step 3: Choose healing actions, not soothing scratches.

Healing actions take longer but build sustainable growth:

Instead of rushing a launch → talk to your audience first

Instead of buying another tool → map out your existing process visually

Instead of overcommitting → create a clear, aligned roadmap

When you stop scratching, the itch fades, the wound heals, and you’re stronger than before.

So, the next time you feel that urge to scratch in your business, ask yourself:
👉 “Is this healing me, or just soothing me for a second?”

Let me know your thoughts in the I sat down with someone who has been a role model of mine since 2021—Andra Stefanescu—and honestly, it felt surreal. Back when I joined the AJ&Smart Workshoper Master program, Andra was one of the names I wrote down to just “watch and learn from.” And now, here we are.

Subscribe now

Andra is a leadership trainer and certified neuromindfulness coach who teaches neuroscience-based frameworks to help leaders transform resistance into collaboration. What I love most is how she brings the brain into the boardroom—translating big scientific concepts into super practical, empathetic communication strategies.

In our conversation, Andra shared the emotional turning point in her leadership journey—sitting on a park bench, burnt out and wondering if she was even cut out for this work. What shifted everything? Learning about the amygdala hijack and the SCARF model. She didn’t just read about it—she applied it. And saw her team dynamic, her product quality, and even her boss’s perception of her change overnight.

We explored:

What makes some workshops magnetic and others fall flat

The secret power of asking open, non-assumptive questions

Why connection must come before collaboration

How to structure intros that bring people’s true selves into the room

Her latest favorite workshop tool (spoiler: it involves Play-Doh!)

A brilliant walk-and-talk retrospective that turned a grumpy team into energized collaborators

Andra also generously shared a resource she's created: a free downloadable booklet with 54 neuroscience-backed powerful questions you can use in your own sessions. It’s gold.

If you’ve ever doubted your ability to lead, facilitate, or connect—this episode will remind you that the breakthrough often lies in going back to the basics and learning how our brains actually work in change, stress, and communication.

🎧 Tune in. Take notes. And let’s keep making the invisible visible.

📬 Connect with Andra:

Newsletter: teamflow.substack.com

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andracristianastefanescu/

🎁 Get Andra’s free booklet of 54 powerful workshop questions

Enjoy!

—Tamar

Share The Action Mapping Method

The Two-Minute Pause That Saved My Sanity

(And How to Use It Yourself)

Tamar Stolz

The other day, everything felt loud. WAY TOO LOUD!

The kids were running wild, chalk dust everywhere, shoes where they shouldn’t be, voices getting louder by the second. I was overstimulated, out of patience, and teetering on the edge of snapping.

So I stepped away for two minutes.

I didn’t go far—just into the bathroom for a quick pause. It was the only place with a door I could close and a moment of quiet. (parents reading- you feeling me??)

And in that moment, I gave myself a mini Action Mapping session. And I created the exact template I followed and linked it to the bottom of this article.

Here’s what I did:

Step 1: Clarify
What’s my goal right now?
Not control. Not order.
Just: Be a loving parent.

ok…next,

Step 2: Collect
I’m overwhelmed.
I’m overstimulated.
I’m tired.
I’m craving calm.
Naming it helped me breathe again.

Then, I moved on to:

Step 3: Choose
What are my options?
Yelling felt tempting. But does that align with my goal of being a loving parent?
Nope.
So instead—I chose music and movement.

And moved on to the final step—

Step 4: Create
I made a coffee. Turned on the speaker. Invited the kids to help me clean while we danced it out.

It didn’t solve everything. But it shifted everything.

That’s the power of pausing with intention.
Not to escape.
But to reconnect.

I was reminded of this 90-second video by Chad Littlefield: Slow Down to Connect
It captures the same truth: connection begins the moment we pause long enough to choose it. HIGHLY recommend you give it a watch- it’s just a few minutes long.

Watch Here

So, if your days feel messy, overstimulating, or like you’re always on the edge…

You don’t need a perfect routine. You don’t need to be more disciplined.

You just need two minutes—and a way back to yourself.

P.S. I created a simple, printable version of the 2-Min Reset Map. I read every comment myself and can’t wait to hear!

Enjoy!

—Tamar
